ARUA Appoints Director of Research and Training
The ARUA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Jane Ambuko as the Director of Research and Training at African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA). Professor Ambuko’s appointment is a result of a competitive recruitment process that followed a call for expressions of interest in the position. She is a Professor of Horticulture from the University of Nairobi with extensive experience in research, training and community engagement.
Professor Ambuko will be based at the ARUA secretariat in Accra, Ghana. She will support the Secretariat in developing Alliance’s research agenda, foster collaboration across Centres of Excellence, Clusters of Research Excellence and contribute to the ARUA mission.
She will lead ARUA’s training initiatives, support the development of mentorship programs for the early-career fellowship program, and promote collaborative PhD programmes. Professor Ambuko will also help in fundraising and assist the Secretary-General in network’s advocacy efforts.
We are delighted to welcome Professor Jane Ambuko and look forward to a fruitful tour of duty as she assumes her role at ARUA.
