ARUA Secretary-General begins tour of Member Universities in South Africa
The Vice Chancellor of University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Professor Zeblon Vilakazi, has welcomed the Secretary-General of ARUA, Professor Ernest Aryeetey, to his office in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. The meeting at Wits forms part of the Secretary-General’s tour of ARUA universities in South Africa.
The two discussed the growth of the network and arrangements for the implementation of the recently launched ARUA strategic plan. Professor Vilakazi reaffirmed his support for the strategic plan and pledged to work towards its realization.
The Secretary-General also held fruitful discussions with Professor Lynn Morris, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and staff of the Research Office, including Dr Robin Drennan, Director. He will also meet with a number of Deans and other senior management staff of Wits.
Professor Ernest Aryeetey is also scheduled to meet with Vice Chancellors and senior management staff of University of Pretoria, University of Rhodes, University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University.
