ARUA Centres of Excellence (CoE) Joint Webinar Series 1: Connecting Inequality Research with Food Systems Transformation in Africa

16th June 2026

The African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centres of Excellence in Sustainable Food Systems (ARUA-SFS) and the African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research (ACEIR) are pleased to announce a joint webinar under the theme ‘Connecting Inequality Research with Food Systems Transformation in Africa’.

This inaugural webinar will showcase the work of both Centres in advancing evidence-based research, strengthening research capacity, and supporting policy engagement on issues related to food systems transformation, poverty, livelihoods, social inequality, climate resilience, nutrition, and inclusive development.

The webinar will bring together researchers, academics, policymakers, students, development practitioners, and stakeholders from across Africa and beyond to explore how sustainable food systems research and inequality and poverty research intersect to shape inclusive, resilient, and equitable societies.

A special feature of the ARUA CoEs-led webinar series is the spotlight on Early Career Researchers (ECRs) hosted by the Centres. Selected ECRs from the Centres will present their ongoing research and demonstrate how their scholarly work contributes to the objectives and impact agendas of the two Centres and broadly to ARUA’s vision and mission in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

Register for the Webinar.
