ARUA signs MoU with U21
African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) and Universitas 21 (U21) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a network-to-network partnership for the purposes of supporting higher education through research collaboration, knowledge exchange and promoting mutual understanding between the two parties. The MoU is operational for three years in the first instance.
The areas of co-operation are geared towards establishing an agreed annual programme for members of ARUA and U21 that provides for research collaborations and such joint events as symposia, virtual learning opportunities for faculty and students and/or student competitions. In addition, to commit to a focus on addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through joint activities, the MoU provides an opportunity the two networks to seek support for funding specific projects, professional development and mobility opportunities.
The Secretary-General of ARUA, Professor Ernest Aryeetey, signed for ARUA, and Professor Jennifer Dixon, Provost, Universitas 21, signed for U21.
