Fourth ARUA 2023 Biennial International Conference Opens

A colourful opening ceremony of the Fourth ARUA 2023 Biennial International Conference took place this morning at the Tayo Aderinokun Theatre at the University of Lagos. 

The Conference brings together about 300 participants who are experts from universities, research institutions, government, industry, civil society organisations and stakeholders of ARUA. The theme for the Conference is:  Reimagining the Future of Higher Education in Africa.  University of Lagos is hosting the International Conference.

The African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the EU’s vision for Global Gateways prioritising an AU-EU strategic partnership have both set ambitions to develop an African knowledge society through research and innovation. This is crucial to strengthen a prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development. We need a new approach to tackle the AU’s and EU’s common challenges, from climate change to health to digitalisation.

ARUA 2021 Biennial International Conference

Global Public Health Challenges: Facing Them in Africa

18-20 November 2021

The ARUA 2021 Biennial Conference will bring together experts from universities, research institutions, government, industry, civil society, international organizations, etc., to discuss the different steps that African economies need to take in order to face global public health challenges squarely. In reflecting on the prominent lessons from the handling of previous and current pandemics, the medium to long term implications of measures and steps taken to contain the spread of the virus in Africa will be the focus of the conference. This will be done in recognition of the interconnectedness of the various issues involved in dealing with a pandemic.
