As the third in a series of benchmarking studies, the report offers a critical evidence base for understanding how Africa’s leading research universities are evolving in terms of capacity, gender equity, data systems, and research collaboration. The findings underscore the network’s shared commitment to data-driven transformation and the strengthening of research ecosystems across the continent.

Under the third phase of the ARUA Data-Gathering Project, an online repository of interactive Power BI reports has been developed. The repository offers dynamic visualisations and institutional profiles, enabling users to easily explore trends and comparisons. The development of this resource has been made possible through the generous support of the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
