The African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) congratulates Professor Mosa Moshabela on his appointment as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Town (UCT). As the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Professor Moshabela has worked closely with ARUA, contributing significantly to our mission of advancing collaborative research and higher education in Africa. We look forward to his continued impact.

The African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) is proud to announce the admission of Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) of Morocco as its newest full member. UM6P’s inclusion marks a significant milestone, as it becomes the 20th full member of the Alliance and the first from Northern Africa, bringing the total number of member universities to 23.

Eduardo Mondlane University  (UEM) in Mozambique has been admitted as an associate member of ARUA. The decision was taken at the recent meeting of the ARUA Executive Committee which took place in Accra.

At its recent meeting held in Accra, the ARUA Executive Committee admitted Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to full membership of ARUA.
