Eduardo Mondlane University (Associate Member)

Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) is a national public institution, the oldest higher education institution in Mozambique. It was founded on August 21, 1962, by Decree-Law No. 44530, under the name of General University Studies of Mozambique.

In 1968, it was elevated to the status of university, then named the University of Lourenço Marques. On May 1, 1976, President Samora Moisés Machel named the institution Eduardo Mondlane University, in homage to the significant historical role played in Mozambique by Dr. Eduardo Chivambo Mondlane. The University aims to produce and disseminate scientific knowledge and promote innovation through research as the foundation of teaching-learning and outreach processes, educating generations with humanistic values ​​so that they can face contemporary challenges for the development of society.
