Dr. Lindiwe Majele Sibanda, Head of Centre for ARUA’s Centre of Excellence for Food Security, University of Pretoria, has been announced as the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research’s (CGIAR) next System Board Chair. She will succeed Marco Ferroni who is stepping down and retiring at the end of December 2022. Her appointment takes effect in January 2023.
Times Higher Education has announced its 2022 World Reputation rankings and placed the University of Pretoria (UP) on the 382 position globally in overall reputation, compared with 514 in 2021.
Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, FAS, has been appointed by the Governing Council of the University of Lagos as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of the University. Professor Ogunsola who takes over from Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS assumes office on November 12, 2022.
